BBQ Recipes

BBQ Recipes, or barbecue, come straight from the King of the Grill. This is by far one of the best ways to cook any type of meat, as long as you pay attention and don't make the fire too hot.

I love barbecuing any time of the year, though in the winter it can be rather cold, but I guess that all depends on where you are from. But nothing tastes better than your favorite meat cooked over an open flame.

The barbecue not only cooks your meat evenly, it also burns off most of the fatty oils that other cooking methods do not. Not to mention it makes the meats taste great!

I do have a secret that earns me rave reviews every time I grill out. It's all about temperature and time. That and never leaving the grill for more than four minutes.

Not all grills are created equally. I have and prefer to cook on a three-burner gas grill. Charcoal grills are also great but heat up a lot differently.

No matter which type of grill you are using for your BBQ recipes, always start out burning the grill on high for 10 minutes to kill any germs or bacteria on the food grate. Once everything on the grate is turned to ash, scrape with a grill brush.

Depending on the size of the meal or amount of meats I am putting on the grill, I turn down all of the burners to low or put the meat in the middle and turn off the middle burner, leaving the outside burners on medium low for an average temperature within the grill of about 350 degrees.

BBQ recipes including fish such as salmon don't require to be flipped, but all other thicker meats should be flipped while cooking. To get your meat cooked to perfection, flip often (about every three to five minutes). This keeps it from burning.

Also, when you marinate your meats, most of the marinade burns off during the cooking process. This is one reason I cook on lower temperatures. But also have some marinade on the side and baste the meat after every flip to keep the meat juicy and full of flavor.
